Malena Hankins

Malena Hankins (born 9 November 1973) is a 43-year-old American pool and open water swimmer from Georgia. She is owner of the Aqua-Tots Swim Schools.
Open Water Swimming Career[edit]
- She completed the 2014 Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in 8 hours 5 minutes 49 seconds, a 28.5-mile circumnavigation swim in New York City.
- She won the 2011 U.S. Masters Swimming 25K National Championships.
- She participated in the 2017 Swim Across America Catalina Channel Crossing with Brett Cohen, Carolyn Hollingsworth, Naomi Kent, Rene Martinez Saenz, and Dan Simonelli with Swim Across America coordinator and Director of Events Megan Melgaard and escort pilot Captain Dave of the Pacific Star Charters on 17 July 2017.
- On 10 September 2021, she completed a 32.3 km crossing of the Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the Southern California mainland in 10 hours 39 minutes 21 seconds with Dan Simonelli, Barb Schumacher, Leann Rossi, Juan Carlos Barahona, Hugo Pallete, and Kenneth Feick and Don Van Cleve as observers.
