Lake Superior (French: Lac Supérieur) is the largest of the five Great Lakes of North America. The lake is bounded by Ontario and Minnesota to the north and west, and Wisconsin and Michigan to the south. It is generally considered the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area. It is the world's third-largest freshwater lake by volume.

Park Point in Lake Superior was site of the Viking Endurance Swim in 1960.

Lake Superior Relay

The 23.5-hour Lake Superior Relay was a 48-mile eco-swimming relay across Lake Superior from near Split Rock Lighthouse to Duluth, Minnesota on 30 August 2023 to raise awareness of the impact of climate change on Lake Superior. Members included Karen Zemlin (55), Craig Collins (64), Casey McGrath (51), Seth Baetzold (28), Mike Miller, and Jeff Everett.
