noun - The Canadian Open Water Swim Series (or COWSS) is a national open water swim series in Canada. It offers local and regional open water swim events to create one national series. Its races are part of Canada's Top Open Water Swims.
Objective
The objective of the Canadian Open Water Swim Series is to promote safe, fun and competitive open water swimming events across Canada.

- Bay Challenge from Sandy Cove Beach to Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver, British Columba on 8 August (1.5 km, 3 km, 6 km, 4 x 1.5 km relay, 10 km)
- Briga Swim in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 3 August (1 km, 3 km, 5 km)
- Kitsilano Challenge in Kitsilano Beach, British Columbia on 18 July (1.5 km, 3 km, 6 km, 4 x 1.5 km relay)
- The L.O.S.T. Race near Oakville, Ontario on the second Saturday in August (3.8 km)
- Toronto Island Lake Swim at Center Island Pier in Toronto Island, Ontario on 17 August (750m, 1.5 km, 3.8 km)
- Caledon Quarry Swim Race on Caledon, Ontario on 8 July (1 km, 2 km, 4 km, 5 km)
