Angela Lazarenco is the wife and crew member of her husband Ion Lazarenco Tiron who has done six Oceans Seven channels.

Ion Lazarenco Tiron Open Water Swimming Career

• He completed the 235 km Swimming Marathon Nistru – Unites Moldova stage swim on the River Nistru in Moldova. The stage swim from Soroca to Dubasari took 8 days.
• In 2013, he attempted a 23 km swim from Bray to Wicklow piloted by local fisherman Austin Poynton.
• On 22 February 2014, he participated in an Ice Mile swim in Wicklow Mountains in Ireland under the auspices of the International Ice Swimming Association in 3.3ºC (37.9ºF) water.
• On 11 May 2014, he completed a 14.4 km crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain to Morocco in 4 hours 41 minutes at the age of 36 in 17ºC water escorted by Columba 1.
• On 18 September 2014, he crossed the English Channel from England to France in 13 hours 34 minutes 12 seconds at the age of 36 under the auspices of the Channel Swimming & Piloting Federation and escorted by Eddie Spelling in 16ºC water becoming the first Moldovan to do it. His crew included observer Jim Boucher and crew Angela Lazarenco and Marin Tiron (brother).
• Between 7-17 November 2014, he completed the Swim of Peace in Tunisia with Nejib Belhedi.
• On 26 July 2015, he completed the 26.4 km International Self-Transcendence Marathon Swim in 9 hours 8 minutes 43 seconds at the age of 37 in Lake Zurich coming 5th with kayakers Angela Lazarenco, Kari Lienhard-Hardman, Karine Regazzoni and Fergus Galvin.
• On 11 August 2015, he completed a 35 km crossing of the North Channel from Donaghadee, Northern Ireland to Scotland in 16 hours 23 minutes 45 seconds at the age of 37 with escort pilot Brian Meharg with crew members Marin Tiron, Lucas Kowalczyk and Victor Birlea, and observer Maureen McCoy in 11.8ºC to 12.3ºC water.
• On 12 September 2016, he crossed the 32.3 km Catalina Channel from the Santa Catalina Island to the Southern California mainland in 12 hours 1 minute 14 seconds at the age of 38.
• On 5 October 2016, he completed a 42 km crossing of the Molokai Channel from Molokai Island to Oahu in 18 hours 11 minutes at the age of 38.
• In 2016, he won the 2016 Male Senior Swimmer of the Year (Live Vote) from the Irish Long Distance Swimming Association.
• On 25 July 2017, he completed a 19.5 km crossing of the Tsugaru Channel from Honshu to Hokkaido in Japan in 11 hours 20 minutes 21 seconds at the age of 39.
• He will participate in the 28.5-mile (45.8 km) 20 Bridges Circumnavigation Swim of Manhattan in New York City held in 2017.
