The Gold Coast is a metropolitan region south of Brisbane on Australia’s east coast. It is famous for its long sandy beaches, surfing spots and elaborate system of inland canals and waterways and the Coolangatta Gold event.

- The World Series Swims hosts a 21.5 km marathon swim called the SWIM THE GOLD COAST from Coolangatta Beach to Surfers Paradise for solo and relay swimmers in May.
- The Southport Broadwater Parklands in Gold Coast City will be site of the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games (Games of the XXXV Olympiad) in Queensland.
