Beachcomber Island

Beachcomber Island is a small island in Fiji and part of the Mamanuca Islands, a volcanic archipelago lying to the west of Nadi and to the south of the Yasawa Islands. The group, a popular tourist destination, consists of about 20 islands, but about seven of these are covered by the Pacific Ocean at high tide. The Mamanuca Islands, just off the coast of Denarau offer crystal clear waters, palm fringed sandy beaches and live coral reefs. There are islands, villages, resorts to visit, snorkel and swim.
Open Water Swimming
- Beachcomber Island is the site of the multi-race Fiji Swims, one of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims and World's Top 100 Island Swims started by David Handley.
- Louise Scales completed an unprecedented 38 km two-way crossing from the Sofitel Fiji on the mainland of Fiji to Beachcomber Island and back in 9 hours 45 minutes in August 2011. Her course is a two-way route used annually by one of the world's top 100 open water swims, Fiji Swims.
