Thomas Spence

Tom Spence is an American open water swimming event director and observer from Ohio and a member of U.S. Masters Swimming.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- On 26 July 2017, he observed Chuck Beatty swim 39.1 km across Lake Erie in 11 hours 48 minutes 51 seconds from Long Point in Ontario, Canada to Freeport Beach, Pennsylvania, USA piloted by Dave Runser with Kevin McCardle, Mark Schenk, Fristen Bergman as support crew members.
- He is a recipient of the 2012 USMS Service Award.
- He served as the event director of the Brogan Open Water Classic.
