Jim Loreto of USA completed a double circumnavigation swim of Manhattan Island in 19 hours 36 minutes on 18/19 September 2020 setting a new course record. The former record was held by Jaimie Monahan with a time of 20 hours and 12 minutes on 28/29 July, 2017. Prior records include Pieter Christian Jongeneel Anderica of Spain completed a double circumnavigation swim of Manhattan Island in 20 hours 15 minutes on 18 September 2016 to break the 2007 record of Skip Storch of 20 hours 56 minutes.
