Brian Curtis Mile

From Openwaterpedia

The Brian Curtis Mile is part of the Freedom Swim Series in South Africa. The memorial swim was started in 1999 in memory of Brian Curtis, one of the founding directors of Cadiz Holdings Limited, in 1994. As a director of Cadiz, Curtis' main role was to implement and develop Cadiz Securities' fixed income research and brokering business. He was one of the founding directors of Cadiz Holdings Limited and a keen swimmer who died tragically in a motorcycle accident in 1998.

Under the direction of Ram Barkai, the Brian Curtis Mile is the largest inland open water swim in the Western Cape of South Africa and a seeded event for the Midmar Mile.
