West Indies Bluewater Ocean Swim Series




The West Indies Bluewater Swim Series includes four exciting world-class open water swimming events held throughout the beautiful waters of the Caribbean Sea.
These swim races span and reflect the diversity of the West Indian islands with the Turks & Caicos in the north (just below the Bahamas), St. John (USVI) a little farther southeast next to Puerto Rico, Nevis in the middle of the archipelago, and Trinidad to the south.
Its swim are part of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims.
Series Schedule
- The first race is the StarMile2.5 Nevis-St. Kitts, a 2.5-mile Cross-Channel Swim on 25 March 2012.
- The second is the Beach-to-Beach Power Swim, 1- , 2.25- and 3.5-mile swim on 27 May 2012 in St John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- The third race is the Race for the Conch EcoSeaSwim, a 1- and 2.4-mile swim on 7 July 2012 in Turks & Caicos.
- The fourth race is the Maracas Bay Open Water Classic, a 750m, 2.65K Race and 5K Race in Trinidad.
Race for the Conch
The Race For The Conch Eco-SeaSwim is a features 1/2 mile, 1-mile and 2.4-mile sea swims in Turks & Caicos in the Caribbean Sea. It also offers a free 100-meter swim for children. All races are held on 7 July, the first Saturday of each July. The 2.4 mile and the 1 mile races can be done back-to-back on the same morning. The competition is organized by Ben Stubenberg and Chloe Zimmerman and is one of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims.
The races are held at the in gorgeous beautiful Grace Bay Beach in front of Flamingo Cafe, next to Club Med in Providenciales. Turks and Caicos in in the British West Indies. Turks & Caicos is located 550 miles southeast of Miami, near south of the Bahama Islands. The waters in July are calm, warm, and beautifully clear. There are direct airline flights from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Charlotte, Boston, Toronto and London.
