Uminchu Club
The Uminchu Club is an open water swimming club headquartered in Tokyo, Japan that was founded by Teruko Onuki. Uminchu Club provides a plethora of information via monthly newsletters as well as host open water swimming clinics, holiday swimming tours, and camps via virtual and in-person training programs throughout Japan and from Western Australia to Vietnam.
Teruko Onuki[edit]
Teruko Onuki (大貫映子) is a well-known Japanese open water swimmer, coach, author and television commentator who finished the 36 km Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli in Italy in 8 hours 47 minutes, and completed two crossings of the English Channel from England to France in 1982 and 1983. She is a FINA open water swimming official and delegate and serves on the Japan Swimming Federation open water swimming committee.
