This round-trip 2.5-mile Alcatraz swim will begin on the beach of Aquatic Park in San Francisco. The competitors will swim to Alcatraz Island, touch the turn-around point, and continue back to Aquatic Park. Touch Alcatraz 'n' Go! There will be a boat with a race official on it that will mark the spot near the island.
This event is for experienced open water swimmers only. This swim will not only require swimming strength and open water experience, but your expert ability to navigate a winning course. You should be able to comfortably swim one mile in a pool in under 40 minutes. Fees
US$225 per individual. Discounts available to Water World Swim 2010-2011 Year Members. Participants of any Water World Swim 2010 Event receives 35% off. New Wave Swimmers (under 18 years approved) receives 50% off.
