Swim for Rivers for Life

From Openwaterpedia
(Redirected from Swim for Rivers)

The Swim for Rivers for Life is an open water swimming series and charitable initiative of Andrew Chin and other South African open water swimmers like Mandy Uys, Joy Roach and Sean Murray.

The project’s vision is to raise awareness among children of the plight of South African rivers, one province at a time. The 9 swims include a 200 km swim on the Wilge River in Gauteng, a 100 km swim/run/paddle down the Berg River in the Western Cape, and a 70 km section of the Orange River in Northern Cape.

On 29 November 2018, Chin completed his fifth Swim for Rivers solo 10-day stage swim in KwaZulu-Natal.
