Swim The Kingdom is an open water swimming competition organized in the state of Vermont by Phil White of the Northeast Kingdom Open Water Swimming Association (NEKOWSA). The event consists of 7 open water swims in 9 days in Lake Memphremagog and is part of the Kingdom Games.

2012 Swim The Kingdom Schedule[edit]

August 10th: Crystal Swim, a 5-mile open water swim under the cliffs and around the shores
August 11th: Island Pond Swim, 4-mile open water swim from Brighton State Park Beach around The Island
August 13th: Seymour Swim, a 3.5-mile open water swimming double loop
August 14th: Massawippi, a 4-mile open water swim starting and ending at Ayres Cliff, Quebec
August 15th: Memphremagog, a 4-mile open water swim in Derby, around Black, Belle, and Cove Islands
August 17th: Willoughby Swim, a 5-mile majestic open water swim, one of America's Top 100 Open Water Swims
August 18th: Caspian Swim, a 3-mile open water swim to Bathtub Rock and back or 1.5 miles to The Rock

NEKOWSA 2014 Schedule[edit]

  • June 14th - 6th Son of a Swim, 2, 4, and 6-mile swims
  • July 12th - 6th Kingdom Swim, 1, 3, 6, and 10-mile swims + ¼ mile and 100 yard swims including the WOWSA 10 Mile World Open Water Championship
  • August 2nd - 4th Seymour Swim - 3.5 and 1.75 miles as part of Kingdom Triathlon

August 9th - 17th - 8 Lakes - 43 Miles - 4 Marathons: Swim The Kingdom Week. Swimmers can participate in one event or up to all eight events.

Kingdom Games[edit]

The Kingdom Games is a series of running, biking, open water swimming, triathlon and kayaking events in a number of scenic venues throughout the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada, organized by Kingdom Games race director Phil White. Its headquarters is located at The Clubhous in Derby, Vermont. The Kingdom Games organizes 38 days of sporting activities covering 1450 miles of running, biking, open water swimming, triathlon and kayaking courses.

The Kingdom Games attracts thousands of participants, their friends and families from 36 different American states, five Canadian provinces, Mexico, Great Britain, and as far away as Mumbai, India. The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is one of the most beautiful areas of the United States. It was one of the very first geo-tourism areas in the world specially designated by National Geographic Society.
