Swam That Race

Swam That Race is a 4-race open water swimming event that is a U.S. Masters Swimming-sanctioned and -insured event in Emerson Bay, a wind-protected bay near the southern tip of west Lake Okoboji in Iowa, organized by Arlo Lorenz.

USMS membership is required for participation; single event memberships will be available upon signup or the day of the event.

Distances[edit]

Course[edit]

The corners of the course will be marked with 4 foot orange buoys with 3 additional center buoys for the two long sides, an additional center buoy is being added on the short side. Course dimensions will total 2.5 km, side one will be 1150 meters, side two 250 meters, side three 1000 meters. Course will be swam counter clockwise

6 & Up, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44. 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

Awards[edit]

Awards provided for top three Male and Female participants in each age group within each race type.

Equipment[edit]

Wetsuits are allowed, and encouraged as participation in a life goal, is more important than rules that keep us from it.
