Stephani Munatones Sharp was a former national-level pool and open water swimmer, triathlete, water polo player and mother of two children. Her former husband Jonathan Sharp is the namesake for the scoreboard at the Robert J. H. Kiphuth Exhibition Pool in the Payne Whitney Gymnasium on the Yale University campus, the 6-lane 25-yard pool with seating for 2,178 spectators is competition venue for the Yale men's and women's swim team.

- She won the 1996 3-mile Naples Island Swim in Long Beach, California.
- She won the 1994 and 1996 Maui Channel Swim, a 9.6-mile relay from Lanai to Maui in Hawaii, together with Sarah Turner, Michele Bird, Ellen Ferguson, Susan Casey and Pam Lazzarotto.
