St Kilda Swim
Christina Mackenzie, John Dyer, Colin Macleod (team captain), Ed Smith, Mark 'Doug' Maciver, Eilidh Whiteford, and Angus Murray swam over 35 hours on 18 August 2015 as a relay from St. Kilda (a Dual World Heritage Site) to Hushinish, Isle of Harris. The swimmers were supported by 3 kayakers and a cabin cruiser piloted by Murdo Macdonald as they swam 60 miles through the North Atlantic Ocean on this unprecedented adventure.

St Kilda[edit]
St Kilda (Scottish Gaelic: Hiort) is an isolated archipelago 64 km (40 miles) west-northwest of North Uist in the North Atlantic Ocean. It contains the westernmost islands of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The largest island is Hirta, whose sea cliffs are the highest in the United Kingdom; three other islands (Dùn, Soay and Boreray) were also used for grazing and seabird hunting. The islands are administratively a part of the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar local authority area.
