Sardinia (Italian: Sardegna) is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea after Sicily and before Cyprus and an autonomous region of Italy. It is located in the Western Mediterranean, just south of Corsica.
Open Water Swimming[edit]
- Swim Holidays in Sardinia is a 3-day swim holiday by Neda el Món in June off the spectacular waters of the Italian island of Sardinia. The travel includes 3-day trip from Barcelona, transfers to Palau (Sardinia), accommodation for 3 nights and all meals except dinners where swimmers can enjoy three circumnavigation swims around three islands:

- Solo swimmers attempt to swim across the Strait of Bonifacio that is between the island of Corsica and the island of Sardinia that divides the Tyrrhenian Sea from the western Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the World's Top 100 Island Swims.
- It is site of the 17 km Gran Fondo Porto Conte that is part of the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Gran Fondo Italia series.
- It is site of the Ogliastra Swim & Run - Sardinia Challenge Long Distance that starts in Coccorrocci (Gairo Sant'Elena), heads to Hotel Corte Bianca (Cardedu), after completing the circumnavigation of the Torre di Barì (Bari Sardinian). There are 11 transitions between sea swimming and running along the course totaling 5.3 km of swimming and 15.7 km of running.
