Saleh Mohammad
Saleh Mohammad (Arabic: صالح محمد; born 27 April 1986) is a 31-year-old professional marathon swimmer from Syria who competes on the FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup and FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix circuits. He is coached by Ahmad Hossien.
Open Water Swimming Career[edit]
- He won the gold medal in the 5 km and the silver medal in the 10 km at the 2010 Asian Beach Games in Muscat, Oman.
- He won the silver medal in the 5 km and the gold medal in the 10 km at the 2013 Asian Open Water Championships in Kazakhstan.
- He won gold medals in the 5 km and 10 km at the 2008 Asian Beach Games in Bali, Indonesia where he was named the Samsung MVP of the entire competition in 2008.
- He represented his country in the Olympic 10km Marathon Swim at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games finishing 19th.
- He competed in the 2013 FINA World Championships in the 10 km marathon swim and the 25 km race in Barcelona, Spain.
- He competes on the FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup circuit and the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix circuit.
- He won one silver medal and two bronze medals in Kuwait West Asian Games in 2002
- He won three gold medals in the Arab Championship in Jordan in 2002
- He won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal in West Asian Games in Qatar in 2005
- He won the bronze medal in the Arab Swimming Championships 30 km in 2007
- He finished 19th in the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
- He won two gold medals in 5 km and 10 km in the Asian Beach Games in Indonesia 2008
- He finished 3rd in the Capri-Napoli Marathon on the 2011 FINA Grand Prix circuit.
- He finished 2nd in Serbia in 2011 FINA Grand Prix
- He competed in the 2012 FINA Olympic 10km Marathon Swimming Qualifier in Setubal Portugal
- He finished 24th in the 25 km marathon swim at the 2017 FINA World Swimming Championships in Lake Balaton, Hungary
- He competed in the FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup in Canada on 26 July 2014.
- He finished 2nd in the 88 km FINA Grand Prix race in Parana, Argentina
- He has won the Republic Championship Cup since 1998.
- He won three gold medals in the Arab Championship in Jordan in 2002
- He won the gold medal in the 10 km race and a silver medal in the 5 km race at the 2013 Asian Championships in Kazakhstan.
- On 29 August 2006, he competed in the 25 km race at the FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships in Napoli, Italy finishing in 6 hours 39 minutes 33 seconds.
- On 3 May 2008, he competed in the 10 km race at the FINA Open Water Swimming World Championships in Seville, Spain finishing in 1 hour 54 minutes 6 seconds.
- On 21 August 2008, he competed in the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in Beijing, China finishing in 1 hour 53 minutes 37 seconds.
- On 17 July 2009, he competed in the 25 km race at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Rome, Italy finishing in 5 hours 49 minutes 30 seconds.
- On 16 July 2011, he competed in the FINA World Swimming Championships 10 km race in Shanghai, China finishing in 1 hour 55 minutes 59 seconds.
- On 19 July 2013, he competed in the FINA World Swimming Championships 25 km race in Barcelona, Spain finishing in 5 hours 4 minutes 3 seconds.
- On 24 July 2015, he finished the 25 km race at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia in 5 hours 31 minutes 21 seconds.
- On 14 July 2017, he competed in the 25 km race at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Lake Balaton, Hungary finishing in 5 hours 47 minutes 8 seconds.
- He competed in the 36 km Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli in Italy on 9 September 2018.
- He won the 10 km Sun Moon Lake Swim in Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan on 22 September 2018.
