Por La Libre start in Cancun, Mexico organized by Rafa Hernández

Rafael Hernández is a race director of 10 km Por La Libre (El Cruce or Por La Libre Cancún to Isla Mujeres) marathon swim. He is also a passionate promoter of open water swimming in Mexico. He was named as one of the 101 Movers And Shakers In The Open Water Swimming World by the Daily News of Open Water Swimming and is one of the race directors on the 2014-2015 World Open Water Swimming Series.

Por La Libre[edit]

The Por La Libre (El Cruce) is a two-race event (3 km and 10 km) from Cancún to Isla Mujeres in Quintana Roo in southern Mexico held in either May or June every year. It is one of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims.
