Palm positive hand position

From Openwaterpedia

noun - The palm-positive hand position is the position of the swimming stroke in freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke that is most effective in providing forward propulsion from the finger tips to the elbow. This requires a high elbow catch position and allows the swimmer to catch the most surface area that propels them forward. The more consistent the swimmer is at keeping this hand and lower arm position, the more effective they become in the water.
