Thermogenesis

From Openwaterpedia
(Redirected from Non-shivering thermogenesis)

noun - Thermogenesis is the process of heat production in organisms. It occurs mostly in warm-blooded animals including among Tibetan monks who can create heat through the power of their thoughts when they are exposed to cold or non-shivering thermogenesis.

Anticipatory thermogenesis[edit]

Anticipatory thermogenesis, in contrast, is the creation of heat before an event. Professor Tim Noakes has documented how Lewis Pugh's core body temperature rises before he get into cold water - or anticipatory thermogenesis.
