Memphremagog Winter Swimming Society

noun - The Memphremagog Winter Swimming Society is a winter swimming group of hardened individuals founded by Phil White of the Kingdom Games on 17 April 2015 and organized by Greg O’Connor, Janet Kylander Manning, Elaine Kornbau Howley, Helen Lin, Amanda Hunt, Charlotte Brynn, Rena Demeo, and Sarah Watson. The Society includes the 41 Pioneers, the 41 individuals who participated in the inaugural US Winter Swimming Championships in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont.


The Society organizes the second annual Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival, a winter swimming competition in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont with 25m, 50m, 100m, and 200m swims in a two-lane, 25-meter pool, cut in the ice on Lake Memphremagog right by the Eastside Restaurant in Newport, Vermont on 5-6 March 2016. The Organizing Committee consists of Charlotte Brynn, Janet Manning, Greg O'Connor, Elaine Kornbau Howley, Sarah Watson, Amanda Hunt, Rena Demeo, and Phil White.
