The Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival or the Memphremagog Winter Swimming Championships is an annual winter swimming competition in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont.

Distances and Course[edit]

25m, 50m, 100m, and 200m swims in a two-lane, 25-meter pool, cut in the ice on Lake Memphremagog right by the Eastside Restaurant in Newport, Vermont.


Annually in late February or early March.


The swim is organized by the Memphremagog Winter Swimming Society operating under the umbrella of Kingdom Games. Water temperatures at last year's swim was 30ºF (-1.1ºC). The Organizing Committee consists of Charlotte Brynn, Janet Manning, Greg O'Connor, Elaine Kornbau Howley, Sarah Watson, Amanda Hunt, Rena Demeo, Helen Lin, and Phil White. Ice cutters included Michael Booth and Josh McCoy.
