Marine Stadium in Long Beach, California, U.S.A. is one of the world's premier water skiing facilities - and an ideal flat-water location for open water swimming competitions.

It is situated in the middle of one of America's largest population centers in Southern California and is blessed with great weather nearly year-round.

Open Water Swimming

Besides the GPS-marked course, the venue offers great spectator viewing, a sand beach, boat launches, rest rooms, picnicking and ample parking. It is site of the Swim Across America Long Beach event.


The stadium was built for the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics rowing competition and used at the following major competitions

Marine Stadium was also recently designated as an official historic site by the State of California.

Power Boat Racing

The Southern California Speedboat Club (SCSC) has been putting on professional power boat races at Marine Stadium since 1946. SCSC continues that great tradition with the annual SEA FESTIVAL event "The Long Beach Sprint Nationals" held annually in August. Race teams from across the nation converge on the "birthplace" of powerboat racing on the West Coast to try to capture the National Championship at world famous Long Beach Marine Stadium.
