MARNATON

noun - MARNATON is a project and brand created by Miguel Rahola together with Mirentxu Vignau and a host of other open water swimming collaborators in the Catalonia region of Spain.

Origin

MARNATON is a combination of three Spanish words: MAR (sea) + NATACIÓN (swimming) + MARATHON.

MARNATON eDreams Cap de Creus - Cadaqués is an annual event in September where swimmers traverse 6.5 km between the Cap de Creus and Cadaqués.
MARNATON eDreams de la Luna is a 3.8 km open water swim in northern Spain in mid-July from the Puerto de St. Feliu de Guixols to Playa de Sa Conca (S'Agaró) that ends with a delicious meal on the beach.
MARNATON eDreams Garraf - Sitges is a 10 km marathon swim held annually in October. More than 200 swimmers traverse across the Coastal Natural Park of Garraf from Cala Ginesta (Port Ginesta) to the Playa de la Fragata (Sitges).
