Low Tide

From Openwaterpedia

noun - Low tide is (1) the time at which the tide is lowest, (2) the lowest level of the water at a particular time and place. The lowest tides (called the spring tides) occur when the sun and moon are directly aligned with respect to Earth. Low tides are less extreme when the sun and moon are at right angles (called the neap tides).

The swimmers were not able to swim over the coral reef at low tide.
