Leme beach

Leme Beach is a continuation of Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. However, Leme beach is much more laid back and geared toward families. The view from the shore is quite spectacular, especially at sunset. It is also a favorite fishing spot where a platform has been built for fishermen.

Forte Duque de Caxias (aka Forte do Leme) can be visited on weekends, holidays and from Tuesday to Sunday. Once a bastion of protection for the city, it is now a cultural center with wonderful views of the mountains and beaches. The fort has an area of environmental protection of the Atlantic Forest where the visitors can walk by finishing with the visit at the historical museum.

Do Leme ao Pontal

Do Leme ao Pontal (From Leme to Pontal) is a song by Tim Maia that inspired Luiz Lima to swim an unprecedented 35 km from Leme beach to Pontal.

LPSA

The Leme to Pontal Swimming Association (LPSA) is an open water swimming organization that governs the 36 km course between Leme Beach to Pontal in Brazil, inspired by the Brazilian song Do Leme ao Pontal. Luiz Lima first completed the 35 km crossing in 2008; inspired in part by Do Leme ao Pontal (From Leme to Pontal), a well-known Brazilian song by Tim Maia.
