Swimming Career[edit]
- He holds the record for the 17.5-mile Ederle Swim from Manhattan Island, New York to Sandyhook, New Jersey, U.S.A. in 4 hours 1 minute, set in August 2011.
- He has volunteered for a variety of events, including marathon swims around Manhattan Island.
- He has swum the Ederle Swim 5 times placing first in 2008 and 2010. In 2012 he swam the race for a sixth time as part of a relay with his wife Carlie.
- He will attempt a tandem swim together with Joe Rainero (49), Matt Maurer (38), and Mike Stresemann (54) around Sullivan's Island and the Isle of Palms in South Carolina in The Swim Around The Islands in September 2015.
- He finished fourth the 12-mile (19.3 km) Swim Around Charleston in South Carolina.
Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming[edit]
Ogren became a member of the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming on 1 June 2013 with a successful English Channel crossing (11 hours 35 minutes in 2009), a successful Catalina Channel crossing (10 hours 36 minutes in 2013), and two successful Manhattan Island Marathon Swim circumnavigations (7 hours 59 minutes in 2009 and 8 hours 16 minutes in 2010).
