Key West

From Openwaterpedia
David Welzien with Bill Welzien after completing 122nd career solo circumnavigation swim of 20.1 km around Key West in southern Florida in 6 hours 59 minutes on 11 May 2021. His streak began in 1991 and continues through 2021

Key West, an island city, is part of the Florida Keys and the state's southernmost point, lying roughly 90 miles north of Cuba. Famed for its pastel-hued, conch-style houses and laid-back attitude, it’s a cruise-ship stop also accessible from the mainland via the Overseas Highway. It’s known more for its coral reefs – destinations for diving and snorkeling – than for its beaches.
