Joseph Heß is a German open water swimmer and a Ph.D. student from Technische Universität Chemnitz.

Open Water Swimming Career

• He will attempt to swim 620 km down the Elbe from the Czech Republic border with Germany to Hamburg in Germany in 10 days in August.
• 24-hour swims
• On 9 September 2016, he swam across the Strait of Gibraltar from Tarifa, Spain to Perejil Island, Morocco in 4 hours 18 minutes in a tandem swim together with Dino Tajdine Sebti, Pierre Weisbein, and Adrien Champoux.
• In 2017, he will swim in Lake Constance from Bad Schandau near Dresden to Hamburg.
