Jonathan Gladstone
Jonathan Gladstone is an American ice swimmer and marathon swimmer from Somerville, Massachusetts.
Marathon Swimming[edit]
- Gladstone competed in the the 2012 Little Red Lighthouse Swim. He finished tenth in the 2013 eight-mile Boston Light Swim.
- Gladstone participated in the first P2P relay swim on 1 August 2014 with Nate Dean, Kate Owen and Helen Lin, crossing Cape Cod Bay (also known as the American Channel) in 8:43:46.
Cold Water Swimming[edit]
Gladstone competed in the inaugural Cold Water Challenge, a 2.6-mile jetty-to-jetty ocean swim in Penfield Beach in Fairfield, Connecticut on 2 November 2013. On 8 December 2013, he completed an ice swim in South Boston under the auspices of the International Ice Swimming Association, swimming 1.05 miles in 38:39 in 3.33C (38.0F) water. He is one of the famed 41 Pioneers, having competed in all four events at the 2015 United States Winter Swimming Championships in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont on 21-22 February 2015.
Ice Mile[edit]
Gladstone did an official ice mile on 8 December 2013 with Scott Dalrymple and Marty McMahon in 38°F (3.60°C) water + -3.30°C air for 1.05 miles in 38:39.
