Jason Betley is an open water swimmer and a Marathon Swimming Mentor.

Open Water Swimming Career Highlights

• He has completed 3 of the Oceans Seven.
• He is a member of the 24-hour Club.
• He won the Marathon Swimmers Federation's Solo Swim of the Year for the most outstanding solo marathon swim was awarded for his 2-way Catalina Channel crossing of 40 miles (64.6 km) in 28 hours 10 minutes.
• He completed a solo crossing of the English Channel in 13 hours 59 minutes 40 seconds on 30 July 2014.
• He swam the length of Windermere on 24 August 2013
• He swam from the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz on 18 October 2014.
• He swam 14.4 km across the Strait of Gibraltar from Tarifa in Spain to Morocco, with Helen Gibbs in 3 hours 16 minutes.
• He was a participant in the 40-mile Three Lakes Challenge (or Loch, Lake, Llyn), an unprecedented 5-person relay with Sam Plum, Helen Gibbs, Helen Liddle, and Debbie Taylor on 3-4 July 2015.
• He completed a two-way solo crossing of the Catalina Channel in 28 hours 10 minutes 54 seconds, finishing on 20th September 2015, only the 8th person to do so, and the first non-American, to join the 24-Hour Club.

Loch, Lake, Llyn

On 3 July 2015, the Three Lakes Challenge team started a 41 km (25 mile) course across Loch Awe in Bonny, Scotland. They drove to Windermere and swam across 16.9 km (10.5 miles), and then drove to and swam 4 miles (6.4 km) across Llyn Tegid (or Bala) in Wales.
