Jacco Verhaeren

Jacco Verhaeren (born 4 April 1969 in Rijsbergen, North Brabant) is a member of the FINA Coaches Commission, a commission of FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation Amateur) whose membership are representative aquatic coaches from around the world. The Commission provides the FINA Bureau with recommendations and information in regular intervals. Since its creation in 2000, two Chairmen have been in charge of this Commission: Peter Daland (USA, 2000-2005) and Osvaldo Arsenio (ARG, since 2005). Alan Thompson (AUS) has been the Honorary Secretary since 2000.

Coaching Career[edit]

Coach Verhaeren is a Dutch swimming coach. He is was formally the sporting director of the Dutch swimming team and the Nationaal Zweminstituut Eindhoven. On 17 October 2013 Verhaeren was named the head coach of the Australian swimming team. He is best known for guiding Pieter van den Hoogenband, Inge de Bruijn, and Maarten van der Weijden to Olympic gold medals.
