Ivanka Gavanski is an American open water swimmer and member of What Relay?, a Catalina Channel relay included Carol Sing (Team Captain), Tom Cook, Tom Hecker, Steve Green, Ivanka Gavanski, Grace van der Byl, and Lynn Kubasek. The relay is part of the Triple Relay Extravaganza, a tandem swim of three separate six-person relay teams across the Catalina Channel. The 21 swimmers completed their 20.2-mile Catalina Channel crossing in 10 hours 24 minutes.
Tandem Relays[edit]
The tandem relay teams included the following teams with Barbara Held and Jodi DiLascio as observers:
- I Don’t Know What You Are Talking About relay included Will Newbern (Team Captain), Gary Workman, Andy Hewitt, Steve Coopersmith, Penny Nagel, and Robert Philipson
- How Do I Get On That Relay? relay included Sunny Lovell (Team Captain), Sean Durkin, Carol Hayden, Berke Cetinorneri, Sabrina Buselt, and Cat Moore
- What Relay? relay included Carol Sing (Team Captain), Tom Cook, Tom Hecker, Steve Green, Ivanka Gavanski, Grace van der Byl, and Lynn Kubasek
- She was a member of ATI Team 2, a 6-person team that completed a 74.7 km circumnavigation swim relay around Santa Catalina Island in the Pacific Ocean off of Southern California on 16 September 2018 in 31 hours 53 minutes 35 seconds together with John York, John Blair, Robin Hipolito, Mina Elnaccash, and Amber Baker.
