The International Long Distance Swim in the Nile River (or the Nile Long Distance International Swim or Nile International Marathon Swim or Nile Swim or Nile River Swim or Swimming Marathon of the Nile) was a marathon swim held from the 1950s to the 1970s in the Nile River in Egypt.

3rd Swimming Marathon of the Nile[edit]


The 3rd Swimming Marathon of the Nile was held in 1956, by British Pathé. Women's race was won by Brenda Fisher of Great Britain, followed by Margaret Sweeney of New Zealand; men's race was won by Abdull Latif Abo-Heif of Egypt.
