Eric Johnson

Eric Johnson is an American open water swimmer who set the English Channel world record from France-to-England in 1985 as a 27-year-old geologist when he swam on 13 August 1985 from Cap Gris-Nez, France to a point half a mile north of St. Margaret's Bay, England in 8 hours 20 minutes under the escort of Dave Whyte, breaking Lyndon Dunsbee's 1984 record by 14 minutes.
Eric Johnson is also a 53-year-old open water swimmer residing in Hong Kong who won the 2.3 km Sheko Challenge from Big Wave Bay in Sheko to the Back Beach in Hong Kong on 11 July 2013.
