Ella Woodhead

Ella Woodhead, the 7-year-old daughter of South End Rowing Club members Jeff and Laura Woodhead, swam the 1 and 1/8 mile distance from the beach at Ft Point to Lime Rock in the time of 1 hour and 21 minutes on 20 October 2011. Miss Woodhead is the youngest individual ever to successfully swim shore-to-shore across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California, U.S.A.

Miss Woodhead was accompanied in the water with her mother and South End Rowing Club member Paul Dooley while her father escorted them in a kayak with Bob Roper escorting them in the boat Dauntless.
