The Derwent Epic Lakes Swim is an open water swim is part of the Epic Lakes Swim Series that is held at 3 different locations in Cumbria, England and is organized by Epic Events. The distances include 500m, 1 mile and 3.8 km and is held in July.

Locations[edit]

The 3 venues of the Epic Lakes Swim Series are Coniston Water, Derwent Water (Keswick) and Ullswater (Patterdale). Distances include 500m, 1 mile (1.6 km or the Classic Mile), 3.8 km. Wetsuits are compulsory for all swimmers. Neoprene hats may be worn, and hand or foot cover may be worn as long as it does not aid propulsion (paddle gloves or fins).

Epic Events organizes the Coniston Epic Lakes Swim and other sports events throughout the North West of England including triathlon, duathlon, cycle sportives and trail running. Its events attract a wide range of ability levels, ranging from novices to elite with the primary aim is to make everyone feel welcome.
