Debbie Merwick is an American pool and open water swimmer from Hawaii.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- She finished 14th overall in the 7 km Possibly Annual Looong Distance Swim on 28 October 2017 from San Souci Beach to Ala Wai Channel to San Souci Beach on Oahu.
- In November 2020, she completed a 45 km crossing of the Molokai Channel from Molokai to Oahu in 22 hours 31 minutes at the age of 52.
- She is one of the owners of Ka'iwi Crossings LLC that manages the Ka'iwi Channel Association for crossings of the Molokai Channel.
- On 8 April 2023, she crossed the 15.46 km AuAu Channel from Maui to Lanai in a tandem swim with Chris Chuck, Ryan Leong, Stefan Reinke, Hudson Slay, and Bill Goding.
- On 24 July 2021, she crossed the 15.46 km ‘Au’Au Channel between Maui and Lanai with Lectie Altman, Abigail Mawai, Conner Wernecke, Stefan Reinke, Hudson Slay, and Bill Goding.
- She swam the three channels in Hawaii between Maui, Lanai and Molokai on three successive days between 21-23 May 2022 with Tina Neill and Emily Evans.
- Day One on 21 May 2022, she swam across the 14.99 km Pailolo Channel between Maui and Molokai in 4 hours 29 minutes.
- Day Two on 22 May 2022, she swam across the 15.46 km Auau Channel between Lanai and Maui in 5 hours 19 minutes
- Day Three on 23 May 2022, she swam across the 16.61 km Kalohi Channel between Lanai and Molokai in 4 hours 42 minutes.
- She completed all 13 legs of the Summer Solstice Swim held in Ala Moana Beach on Oahu in Hawaii, organized by the Ala Moana Beach Swim Club on 20 June 2026. The 13-hour swimmers included Melissa Harnsberber, Ellis Garcia, John Storm, Cindy Hughes, John Hughes, Thomas Rathbun, Stefan Reinke, Knoll Kaneshiro, Heather Iwasaki, Rachel Randall, Teri Deitz, Alex Webb, Deb Merwick, Chris Chuck, Eric Hu, Ryan Leong, and Kelly Quinn.
