Tañon Strait between Negros and Cebu Island in the Philippines

David Joseph Padilla is a law professor from Virginia and an open water swimmer who was the first person to cross the Tañon Strait from Barangay Bato in Cebu to Tandayag in Oriental Negros in the Philippines. He made the crossing in 2006 in 6 hours.
