David Grier

David Grier is an inspirational speaker, celebrity chef and adventurer from Cape Town, South Africa. He and his running partner, Braam Malherbe raised money for the Operation Smile, a non-profit organisation that provides free reconstructive surgery to children suffering from cleft lips and palates. They completed a 4000 km run along the wall of China over a period of 4 months. In October 2008, Grier returned from running the “smile of Africa” and ran almost 4000 km around the coastline of South Africa from Namibia to Mozambique. During October 2011, Grier and his support team ran 4,008 km across the length of India in 93 days.

He summited Mt Kilimanjaro, ran the Comrades Marathon, the 2 Oceans Marathon, the Puffer Ultra Marathon, and the "Le Grand Raid", the worlds hardest single stage mountain race at 128 km.

He wrote, Courage and Rice, a photographic journal of his adventure along the Great Wall of China.
