David Farinango

David Farinango (born 20 October 2000) is a 20-year-old competitive pool swimmer and an Olympic open water swimmer from Ecuador.
Open Water Swimming Career[edit]
- He participates in the FINA/HOSA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup circuit.
- He finished 19th in the 5 km race at the 2017 FINA World Swimming Championships in Lake Balaton, Hungary on 15 July.
- He competes on the 2018 FINA/HOSA Marathon Swim World Series pro circuit and finished 63rd on the Doha, Qatar leg on 17 March 2018.
- On 13 October 2019, he finished 9th in the 5 km ANOC World Beach Games in Katara Beach, Qatar.
- He competed in the FINA Olympic Marathon Swim Qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Setúbal Bay, Portugal on 19 June 2021 and qualified for the 2020 Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in Tokyo.
- On 20 June 2021, he finished 9th in the 10 km in 2:02:47.90 at the FINA Olympic Marathon Swim Qualifier in Setubal Bay, Portugal at the age of 20.
- On 13 May 2021, he finished 17th in the 10 km in 1:52:24.90 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Qatar at the age of 20.
- On 15 February 2020, he finished 19th in the 10 km in 1:50:08.10 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Qatar at the age of 19.
- On 18 July 2019, he competed in the 5 km Mixed Team relay in the 18th FINA World Championships in South Korea at the age of 18.
- On 13 July 2019, he finished 33rd in the 5 km in 53:50.40 at the 18th FINA World Championships in South Korea at the age of 18.
- On 15 June 2019, he finished 26th in the 10 km in 1:52:00.00 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Lake Balaton, Hungary at the age of 18.
- On 5 August 2021, he finished 15th in the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in Odaiba Marine Park in Tokyo Bay at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
