Daniel Egerton

From Openwaterpedia

Daniel Egerton is a marathon swimmer who will attempt to swim 44 miles in the Irish Sea to Holyhead in order to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. His charity swim will be one mile for each year of his father’s life, Mark Leighton Egerton.

"I want to do it for my dad. It will be one mile for every year of his life. I am going to be thinking of my dad to keep me strong and to keep my confidence up and that will make me complete it. It is going to take quite a bit of time. It is quite a distance, but I’m going to go for it. It is going to be cold but when you are swimming it warms up after the first few miles. It is going to be difficult, but I am a confident swimmer and I am used to swimming in the sea. My family and friends are behind me 100 per cent."
