Dan Martin is a British extreme athlete from Haddon, Peterborough, England.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- He completed and pioneered the 6.5 km Portmagee to Knightstown swim in Ireland together with Nick Caine, Lisa Cummins, Fredrik Kumlin, Carl Reynolds, and Carl Richards in 2009.
- He planned a Global Triathlon for May 2012 where he planned to attempt to swim, cycle and run around the world, a global circumnavigation under his own power. Martin's Global Triathlon included a 5700-kilometer transoceanic swim across the Atlantic Ocean, done under traditional stage swim rules where he will begin each successive stage in the precise point where the finished the previous stage. Under these rules, Martin will become the first human in history to swim across the Atlantic Ocean. He will be escorted by pace swimmer Simon Holliday.
