Khovsgol Nuur

Khovsgol Nuur is a 136 km long freshwater lake that is 20-40 km wide and located in the Khovsgol Nuur National Park that is considered a special place for Mongolians where it is known as Dalai Ej or Mother Sea since it accounts for nearly 70% of all freshwater in Mongolia. It is part of the Baikal Rift System, located in the northernmost extension of Mongolia at 1645 meters (5,397 feet) above sea level.
