210° Southwest relay team completed a Dál Riata channel crossing on 7 September 2015 with Keith Garry, John McElroy, Olive Conroy, and Adrian Poucher in a 7 hour 33 minute between Mull of Kintyre in Scotland and Cross Slieve, Cushendun Bay in Northern Ireland with Pádraig Mallon and Richard Lafferty as the escort pilots from the Infinity Channel Swimming and Piloting Services

noun - Dál Riata Channel Swim, previously known as the Mull of Kintyre Swim, is a newer and shorter 17 km (10.5-mile) channel swim was pioneered by Wayne Soutter from Mull of Kintyre in Scotland to Ballycastle in Northern Ireland. It is part of the Irish Triple Crown and The Celtic Quadrant.
History
- Wayne Soutter of Great Britain was the first person to complete the Dál Riata Channel Swim from Scotland to Ireland on 26 August 2012 in 12 hours 11 minutes. The first attempt by performed by Mercedes Gleitze in 1928.
- 210° Southwest is a 4-person relay team that attempted a Dál Riata channel crossing in July 2015 with Mo McCoy, Olive Conroy, John McElroy and Adrian Poucher that lasted over 13 hours. On 7 September 2015, Keith Garry, John McElroy, Olive Conroy, and Adrian Poucher completed a 7 hour 33 minute Dál Riata crossing between Mull of Kintyre in Scotland and Cross Slieve, Cushendun Bay in Northern Ireland with Pádraig Mallon and Richard Lafferty as the escort pilots from the Infinity Channel Swimming and Piloting Services.
- teamRIPTIDE with Michelle Brooker, Jack Boyle and Noel Grimes was the first TRiO team to make this crossing in June 2016 when they started at the Mull of Kintyre, Scotland and made landfall south of Cushendun, Northern Ireland in 7 hours 44 minutes 21 seconds with support crew Milo McCourt and Afreen Ahmed and navigators Charles Stewart and Pádraig Mallon.
- Sabrina Wiedmer of Switzerland completed a crossing of the Dál Riata Channel in 8 hours 30 minutes 7 seconds with Pádraig Mallon as the escort pilot from the Infinity Channel Swimming and Piloting Services.
