County Sligo is in northwestern Ireland. It’s known for the legacy of local poet W.B. Yeats, whose grave is in a cemetery in Drumcliff, near flat-topped Benbulbin Mountain. In Lough Gill, tiny Innisfree Island inspired one of his poems. The county capital, Sligo, is home to the Yeats Memorial Building, featuring an exhibition and a library. Sligo town also has a medieval abbey and the Model contemporary arts centre.
