Ciaran Byrne is an open water swimmer from Ireland who has completed the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and the Frosted Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
Open Water Swimming Career Highlights[edit]
- He completed the unprecedented Cork to Cobh - First Crossing with Ned Denison, John Downes, Tadhg Harrington, Fergal Somerville and Linda Clarke.
- He completed a crossing of the English Channel on 1 September 2010 in 14 hours 16 minutes.
- He completed the Lough Erne 17 km swim in 2009 in 4 hours 39 minutes.
- He completed numerous open water swims like the Sandycove Island Challenge and GaddinAbtGarnish and Lee Swim.
- He completed the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim on 23 June 2012 in 8 hours 39 minutes 20 seconds.
- He completed the Catalina Channel on 18 July 2014 to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and the Frosted Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming in 13 hours 50 minutes 55 seconds.
- He completed an unprecedented 11.3 km crossing from Rosscarbery to Redstrand swim, an unprecedented swim with Lisa Cummins.
- On 10 February 2013, he has completed an Ice Mile in Loch Lochtair, Co. Ireland in 4.70°C water; he swam the 1.00 mile in 34:00 minutes.
