Dr. Christopher Lowe is a specialist on the Physiology and Ecology of Fishes at the California State University Long Beach in Long Beach, California who runs the CSULB Shark Lab.

Shark Lab

His research focuses on behavioral and physiological ecology of elasmobranchs and teleost gamefishes. He uses a variety of technologies such as acoustic and satellite telemetry, accelerometers, autonomous underwater vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles to study the behavior of marine animals with application to conservation and management.

The mission of the Shark Lab is to study the physiological and behavioral ecology of marine animals, emphasizing the effect of human activity on the ocean; to utilize and develop innovative technology to answer challenging questions important for the conservation and restoration of depleted populations; and to train the next generation of marine biologists.
